Day 683-699 Honeymoon & Creation

Honeymoon was amazing! I haven’t written for so long, but something great has been happening and I am indulging in a creative process. I feel that those long months of dryness has evaporated like sand dunes being blown away by a sudden wind and replaced with flowing streams, green grass and blooming flowers. Every morning when I wake up I work until lunchtime and this is the best thing that could happen to me. I am happy.
Written 2 days ago:
If you ask me what holiday used to mean to me I would have said a time when I go somewhere and spend most of the days visiting places, people watching and come home even more exhausted then when I went with many memories.
If you ask me now what holiday means to me, I would puzzle you and say: rest, rest and rest. We had a wonderful time at Lake Balaton (https://www.bfnp.hu/magyar/nyitolap/). I haven’t been for more than 20 years and the change is just amazing. I remember when the majority of Hungarian tourists couldn’t afford to go to a restaurant there and even if they did when a German appeared they got served first in the hope of a good tip. That is all history now. Prices are cheaper and the hospitality towards Hungarians is just amazing customer service. This is something we only experienced as foreign tourist in Italy and Greek before. There is no litter in the water, facilities are kept clean on the beaches and the food is just delicious and great quality.
For our honeymoon we stayed at Villa Dorottya in Balatonfoldvar (http://www.villadorottya.hu/hu), an old middle class small town on the north side. Less than 100m from the East Beach after crossing the railway. We spent most of our evening at Viktoria Restaurant (https://www.facebook.com/viktoriaetterem) having delicious creamy turkey soup with thyme and traditional Hungarian pancakes with cottage cheese. By our second evening we were treated as regulars and got table service even in the longest queue.
One day we took the boat to Tihany (http://www.tihany.hu/index.php/hu/) part of the World Heritage, the Benedictine Abbey and the aromatic fields of lavender, that you can smell almost everywhere around Lake Balaton. Of course we bought some lavender oil and keep the sweet reminder of this beautiful part of Hungary in our wardrobe.
We also visited Balatonszemes, Balatonlelle, Siofok and Alsobelatelep in our quest to try as many of the top 10 Lake Balaton Fish shops as we can. Balaton fish rocks!!!

Day 668-674 An Amazing Week at The House with The Garden

I haven’t written for a long time, even though lots has been happening: a long talk about Vondores and motherhood with Angela, making apricot and apple chutney, eating lots of mum’s delicious cooking, visiting the church festival at the neighbouring village, talking about cooking and reading recipes with Margit, altogether an amazing week at The House with The Garden and today a painful visit to the dentist. O, Jaj!

Day 665-667 ‘Maternity-Chic’ & The ‘Non-Clothes-Consuming’ Experiment

Wow, back in The House with The Garden and enjoying the lovely view of the birch trees. I can’t wait to start sorting my clothes and make a pile from all that could pass as ‘maternity-chic’. I am determined to carry on with my ‘non-clothes-consuming’ experiment of not buying clothes at all. Second year in a row, a big tick, a big blessing and an ultimate trial now that I can’t fit in any of my tops or bottoms at all.
