Day 576-578 Wonderful Easter

Graciously peaceful time in The House with the Garden. I spent ages to ‘inspect’ the beautiful spring flowers after the snow and rain, every single one of them. Easter is celebrated, mass in the local Catholic Church with a very inspiring talk. I set in the pew with a big smile on my face as I was listening to the joyful message of resurrection. There was a lovely Christening of a teenage girl, which made the whole mass even more touching. It was good to see the friends I made in the congregation and the kind priest we have.
Mum was happy to have me as a little helper with all the Easter preparations and we had a joyful time on Saturday having all the family together, eating a massive meal and playing with the children. I love family get-togethers :-)

Day 575 Rest

A day of rest. Just like when writing Monsieur Thesis my eyes got so tired from embroidering I need to take a day off. It started again in the morning with a strange heaviness on the eyelids and pains in the eyes and temple. Hope it gets better by tomorrow.

Day 574 The Palace of Ornated Rooms

Yes!!! I achieved my target for today. Long live the embroidered Cherry Blossoms! I draw some dress designs, which made me happy and I remembered all those experiments when I did foundation and the projects at uni. A little buzz came back from the past and lit the great fire of creativity. It really amazes me how the ideas of the long years of studying start to come together into one big project. It seems to me that the structure started to be composed with the foundation and like a palace with many rooms from different cultures and ages is ornated under the same roof.

Day 573 Flat Banana Bread

What a day! Spent almost all of it on the Cherry Blossom runner, whilst half-watching, errr, I mean almost just listening to King Arthur with Clive Owen and Gladiator with the one and only Russell Crowe. All extended versions, yay. Around half past 5 I stared cooking. By this time I was wearing my glasses and found it extremely hard to thread the needle. Trying over and over again before tasting the sweetness of success. Still have 3 flowers to do to reach my target for the day, but my reward of a slice of banana cake with a cup of English tea was smashed by something like an unexpected ‘malheur’ between reading the recipe and adding the ingredients: it ended up flat. What did I say? Err, write? Flat? I mean flat! Almost nothing at the bottom of the cake tin. I had to search for it with a magnifying glass. But yes, miracles do happen, the skinny piece was extremely delicious and performed a scene of magical disappearance with an extraordinary speed :-)

Day 572 Cherry Blossom Runner Yay!

Yay! Got a new standing lamp from IKEA to use when embroidering. It is the same design, like the one I got 7 years ago and broke last year by accident in The House with The Garden.
The Cherry Blossom table cloth is ready and already started on the runner. So good to feel the ripening fruit of work. I am fully energised, even though it is snowing outside and I am cold, cold, cold.
Where has the sunshine gone?

Day 568-571 Kerst in Departure

I blame my lack of time to write on the Cherry Blossoms. Still 3 flowers are missing from the table clothes, but after performing some most needed domestic tasks I am not sure if I will do them tonight. I had plenty Vondores to do as well during the last few days. First of all styling Kerst on his latest performance at Departure Café in London, and after more and more Cherry Blossoms. I think I might as well dream about Cherry Blossoms in the forthcoming weeks. But this is all good J
