New Entry: Day 660-663 Maternity Arts & Crafts

Enjoying a very busy week with lots of English, Arts & Crafts, songs, games and smiley faces. How joyful it is to become part of a church community. Can anything be a bigger success on a Thursday afternoon than inspiring a bunch of boys to sew ivy leaves on tulle vests to demonstrate our relationship with the Creator? I am happy.
I got an amazing piece of green fabric from a lovely new acquaintance, which is very handy for making my maternity winter coat. So much to do: maternity dresses, skirts, trousers and all sorts.

Day 659 Thunder Storms

That long awaited temperature drop has finally arrived last night with thunder storms and hailing here and there. The day we were so looking forward to make us incredibly tired. We are still getting used to the change. But this tiredness has a great aroma and leaves good taste in our mouth. A great Sunday!

Day 651-658 12 Months

Had a wonderful time with Christina, been encouraged about Glocal Trinnovation, made my first Cherry Pie and trying very hard to survive the 37C heat, but life is full of joy.
I love the idea of taking my research further and starting to put together my aims and objectives. It’s been a year since graduation and the 12 months I gave myself to figure out what to do is coming to an end. And, yes, I do know what I’d like to do.

Day 649 War and Peace: A Late Night Reminder of Uni Deadlines

Almost 2am
I was hoping to finish the dress by this time, but the bottom lining, the zip and the rose are still missing. It is going to be an early start today. By mid-afternoon I need to be ready to welcome Christina at the airport. Can’t wait!
I remember all those late nights at uni working on projects from 20 minutes sleep to a couple of hours here and there. I usually had the TV or the Radio on. This time I watched the 2007 adaptation of War and Peace, one of my most memorable reading experiences of my life. It was a Christmas and I read the whole 4 volumes in a week or so. I almost drank every page: all the military tactics of Kutuzov and the 30 page long philosophical analysis at the end. I did not leave out a word. This novel is very near to what I might call perfection.

Day 648 Little White Jacket

Jacket is ready. Can’t take a picture until Saturday, but I am so excited.
I had wonderful guests today. How easy to forget in a new life situation the joy of hosting, cooking for friends and share a cup of coffee at the dining table! Life has changed and with the beauty of marriage came new situations, new people and ideas to get used to, that wasn’t planned. It is easy to forget how to enjoy the things I loved so much when little thorns of everyday life pierces the skin I so want to protect from the burning sun. No matter how hard we try, we have to try even harder to get on with those we find it so hard to get on with.
