Day 605 Blue&White Wedding Cake

Of course, it wasn’t all about sewing as I hoped yesterday, but still a productive day. I ordered the wedding cake from the fabulous Artisan Cake Shop, Gyula: http://www.cukraszok.hu/cukraszda_be.htm It is going to be punch and chocolate covered with light blue and white marzipan and decorated with marzipan flowers. I nearly fainted when I heard the price, but that is the best cake-shop in Bekes County. Even though we are having a DIY wedding, we decided to treat ourselves by ordering a ‘luxury’ wedding cake. Something like that, but smaller and light blue instead of the purple: http://www.cukraszok.hu/hirek.fcgi?type=3&kat=4

Day 604 An Incredible Challenge – Charlotte Flowers

A great day with plenty cooking, a decision on the wedding cake (blue and white) and starting on a bridesmaid toile. Tomorrow is going to be all about sewing, so it is time to rest and reenergise.
I just thought I share this: Charlotte Flowers is doing an incredible challenge in England living on less than £1 a day to raise money towards Tearfund’s work fighting extreme poverty. https://www.livebelowtheline.com/me/charlotteflowers Well Done Charlotte! I am very proud of you!
I found this website whilst browsing on Charlotte’s Facebook page: http://visual.ly/if-world-were-100-people There are some straight forward charts explaining how world poverty, education etc. would be distributed if only 100 people would live on the Earth. 48 of them would live under less than $2 USD/day. This is something to think about: where would I be? I remember the long months during Mission Year when I had an extremely tight budget. I am so grateful for that time, I’ve learnt a lot and it makes me appreciate so much what Charlotte is doing out of her free will, to help those who haven’t got.

Day 602-603 Woo-hoo! Singing-Keyboard-Man!

Finally, wedding invitations are done. It is a very simple design, with a blue printed text inside and Edwardian fonts. We decided to write a funny one starting like this: After almost 20 years of decision making we finally decided to get married…
Our families laughed a lot as they read it.
I also finally made a decision about my dress, which I am going to start making tomorrow and just starting to design the bridesmaid’s dresses after posting this blog. Hopefully, the preparation crises are over.
We also have some changes on the music front, but at least the families are happy. We just wanted cd-s and a cd player, but they hired a man with a keyboard for us as a wedding present. It is a kind of present that normally guys buy to their loved ones, so she can wear it to please them or cook in it to feed them. Neither I nor my husband-to-be are keen on ‘singing-keyboard-men’ in general, but those who are giving us this gift love to dance to their music. That means we have to listen to a kind of music on our wedding that we, the two of us really don’t like, but it makes the majority of the wedding guests happy. ‘Woo-hoo’ (if any of you remember any of the scenes when Sabrina the Teenage Witch said that, you know what I mean)!

Day 599-601 I Just Want to Scream!

I am deeply disappointed about missing the 600. Day’s blog. I had enough of wedding preparations! Everything is getting delayed. I keep being questioned about stuff that I didn’t want to spend on. I just want the 18th May to come. Yesterday it was 32C. 2-3 weeks ago we were all woken by -5C every morning. No wonder we are all a bit moody. I am tired, tired, tired and tired! SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 597-598 Wedding Invitations Here I Come

More wedding preparations :-)
I finished Zara’s dress, will post it this week to her mum to try it on and when I get it back will do the embellishment. I attached the tulle to the skirt lining, so she can have a Little Princess feeling :-)
Tomorrow is the day for making the wedding invitations.  So much to do :-)

Day 595-596 Four Weeks To Go

Wedding plans were finalised over the weekend. Thank God. It is time to restart the dress tomorrow. Yay!
