Day 37 From Range Sketching in the Morning to the last Sumer BBQ in the Evening

The most exciting part of culminating the research was finally finding that last bit of the puzzle that makes everything suddenly fall into place. I am indeed blown away by the logic that was behind the research process, it feels a bit like, when a writer is asked questions about his/her book and realises `I didn’t have a clue that could mean this or that. ` This is how I feel. I had no idea the whole research would come to the conclusion it is coming to. But I think that is the idea, you never know where you end up once you start it.

I almost forgot the pleasure of designing, all the excitement of problem solving and playing around with the idea of concept-building. What is happening why? And why this material is used and why that is not? And how an idea could be pushed forward and if an idea needs to be pushed at all?

Both of the ranges apart from using low-carbon-footprint have been designed with no waste policy emphasizing on no-curved-cuts.

I set in The Garden under the morning sun and draw up the basics of both collections. That was heaven for me! I can`t imagine anything more satisfying as a job than design and write. I had a cup of tea and enjoyed the flow of the work. I got so inspired I wrote up the whole line of the thesis. From tomorrow I have to make sure I start writing the specific parts. It took me 6 weeks to read the material and go through all the highs and lows to be able to get to this point. And I only have 2 weeks left to write up as much as I can before I go back to London.

I was invited to the last Summer BBQ at friends. I met people I haven’t talked to for about 15 years. It was great to bring up the stories of our teenage years. We set in their garden and stayed until late. How good it is to take time out regularly to reenergise.
