I cycled about 50 km today and now enjoying the pleasant tiredness. When I switched on the laptop this morning my eyes started to ache again. I think it is just about right to worry about it. It`s been like that for about a week. Every time I sit down to write my eyes start to burn. That`s why I decided to take break and bike ride to Ketegyhaza. My cousin invited me to take part in their annual weekend away. It was half past 8 in the morning , I gave him a call that I was coming after all and got on the bike. After an hour cycling in the fresh morning breeze facing the wind all the way, I arrived and we all set off to visit the Steigervald Horse Farm and the Farm Museum. I was amazed. 14 rooms full of a huge collection (2000 pieces) of Farm and Farmhouse equipment from the early 20th century. (http://www.steigervaldtanya.hu/home.html). I should have ridden a bit, but instead walked around the wonderful flat land and watched the horses, buffalos and the `Hungaricum Szurke Marhat`.
I met a lovely lady in Ketegyhaza, who is a professional gingerbread maker. I have never seen more beautifully decorated gingerbread before. After the Horse farm I cycled back to mum`s and visited the last weaver in the village to take some pictures of her weaving loom, that was made in the 1920`s. She used to work from home and the rugs she made fir the government company many years ago ended up in Japan, Germany, America, Israel and many other countries. She still weaves, but only as a hobby using wool and fabric stripes. We set on the terrace and talked about weaving, the old days I love so much, plants and the highs and lows of life. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon, morning and evening. I am watching TV and it is so good to relax and do nothing.
